Who handles it for us?
Our office software is run for us by Blue Crane Works, the company that built this website, on these services:
- Microsoft Azure stores requests and job records (database in the United States, East US 2 region; photos and videos in Canada, Canada Central region), sends email, suggests addresses as you type, and runs the AI model the office software uses to help read requests and draft estimates.
- Twilio carries text messages to and from (289) 639-2754 and the texts we send you about your job.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and checks that a request is from a person, not a bot (Turnstile).
- Stripe processes card payments when you pay an invoice by card online. Your card number goes to Stripe, never to us.
Does this website use cookies or tracking?
No cookies, and no advertising trackers. The website counts visits with Blue Crane Works' own analytics, which records the page, how long it was read, how far it was scrolled, the referring site, the device and browser type, an approximate location from the network, and taps on the phone, text, email and social links. A visitor is counted with a code that changes every day, so the same person cannot be followed from one day to the next. These counts are kept as statistics.
How long do you keep it?
Request and job records are kept with the job, for as long as they are needed for the work, any follow-up on it, and our tax and accounting records. If a request never turns into a job and you ask us to delete it, we will.
How do I see, correct or delete my information?
Email jackmanmechanicallimited@gmail.com or call (416) 888-1371. Tell us the phone number or email you used, and we will reply. Some records, such as invoices, have to be kept for tax purposes even after a deletion request; we will tell you which. In Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada explains your rights under the federal private sector privacy law (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada).
Do you send marketing?
No. Messages are about your request or your job: a confirmation, a booking, an on-the-way text, an estimate, an invoice, a receipt. Reply STOP to a text to stop texts from (289) 639-2754.
