Which part of the house is it?
Each page covers one system: what it does, what the request form will ask about it, the photos that help, and the rules that apply in Ontario, with the official source beside each one.

Which page covers my problem?
| If this is happening | Read | Is it urgent? |
|---|---|---|
| No hot water, or water around the tank | Water heaters | Water on the floor: call. No hot water: send a request with a photo of the tank label. |
| Water through a ceiling, a wall or under a sink | Leaks and plumbing repairs | Yes. Close the main shutoff first, then call. |
| A slow, blocked or backed-up drain | Drains | Backing up into the basement: call. Slow: send a request. |
| A new gas stove, dryer, BBQ or heater | Gas lines and hookups | No. Send a request. A gas smell is different: leave and call Enbridge from outside. |
| The furnace will not come on | Furnaces | In cold weather, yes: call. |
| Cold radiators or in-floor heat, or a boiler showing a code | Boilers and hot water heating | In cold weather, yes: call. |
What should I do before I call?
Two things cannot wait for anyone. If you smell gas, Enbridge Gas says to leave the building right away and call its emergency line at 1-866-763-5427 or 911 once you are outside (Enbridge Gas). If a pipe bursts, close the main water valve, which the City of Toronto says is usually on the foundation wall where the water pipe enters the home, just before the meter (City of Toronto). The emergency page has every first step in one table.
How do I send a request with photos?
The request form asks what is going on, a few quick questions about it, how soon you need it, and the address. You can add photos or a video, and they upload while you finish. Or text the photos to (289) 639-2754: a text to that number lands in the same job inbox as the form.
No prices are published here. Jackman Mechanical prices each job directly with you, and the photos and answers help get that right.
Which cities do you cover?
Toronto (including North York), Mississauga, Markham and Ajax. Each city has its own water utility and its own rules about who shuts the water off at the street, so each has its own page.
